Course Description: Page to Stage is an instructional method that uses the four art forms: visual art, dance/creative movement, music, and theater to animate the plot and characters of a book in an interactive performance. The goal of this instructional approach is to enhance the literary experience of students by fostering their imagination through the senses. In turn, this experience offers teachers the opportunity to practice integrating the arts with literature and to design an interactive performance. The presentations also demonstrate that integration is a rich and meaningful approach to teaching and a pedagogical tool that can be utilized in all subject areas by addressing concepts, themes, subject matter, and issues.

The interactive workshop will use the methods of Page to Stage to provide teachers with the instructional strategies and practical application to create, develop, and implement their own performances in the classroom. The workshop will show teachers how to put on both large and small theater performances with minimal prep and cost. It expands the concepts of Reader's Theater into the four arts. Teachers will collaboratively apply the theory of bringing text to life and create a powerful interpretation of a story in an easy effective way. Upon completion of the workshop, teachers will have all the necessary tools to apply it in their own classrooms.

Due to the high demand of this workshop and limited class size, it is recommended that you register as soon as possible.
